I'm just back from our day trip to the Detroit area, home of the largest community of the Arab Diaspora. There is beauty in the world again :-)! The Umm Koulthoum Egyptian Orchestra performed earlier tonight at the Detroit Opera House and it was stunningly beautiful. They're a national orchestra in Egypt dedicated to playing traditional Arab music in a more contemporary manner (which when it was formed meant with more European-style Classical ( Read more... )
